I thought Abacha looted more than $5 billion in the few years that he was in power. May be the amount quoted represents what was recovered.
The GDP graph made me laugh. It took me a while to figure it out coz I couldn't understand how the UK lagged Kenya.
On a serious note, there is no way the China and India's GDP can surpass that of the US in this century. Not unless the US economy crumbles. You have to understand that 80% of US's economy is consumer driven, while the economies of China and India rely on exports to the US. So if the US consumers stop spending then China and India's export shrink and so will their growth. They are just piggy-backing on the US.
To paraphrase it; do you think Asians in the UK will take over the British economy as they have done in Kenya?
